Conservancy Leads I Love My Park Day Clean Up

The CNY Conservancy participated in I Love My Park Day as part of the Keep Mohawk Valley Beautiful effort, on Saturday, May 7 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at T.R. Proctor Park in Utica, New York. The Conservancy's board vice president, Kirk Evans, was there to meet and and lead a volunteer cleanup crew in the parking lot of 20. The group cleaned up trash and brush throughout the park.
I Love My Park Day is promoted by the New York State Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. The City of Utica promoted the Great American Clean Up through Keep Mohawk Valley Beautiful. "The Conservancy decided to use May 7 as our clean-up day," Evans said. "The City of Utica provided some supplies as part of the Great American Clean Up, and we recruited volunteers through I Love My Park Day efforts. It's a perfect combination and a great opportunity for people who care about our parks to do something to pitch in."
